It was here, 300 years ago, that man first learned to forge the iron from which the British Empire was built. Now you will find a ribbon of creativity linking ten museums which pay testament to England’s industrial heritage.

Blists Hill Victorian Town is worth a day’s visit in itself as you meander through a town brought to life by character actors. Here you can change decimal currency for pounds, shillings and pence, visit pubs, bakers and candlestick makers before enjoying all the fun of a Victorian fair.

Jackfield Tile Museum is home of the famous Craven Dunnill tiles that decorated the British Empire. There’s Coalport China Museum, where some of the world’s finest and most expensive porcelain was made. Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron, and Enginuity, an award-winning pro-active learning experience. There are the Darby Houses, home to the masters of iron, and the Museum of the Gorge as well as the Iron Bridge itself and its Toll House; the tar tunnel and Broseley Pipe Works where ornate clay pipes fed the tobacco habit of Victorian England.
